Death After Life
by Terry Armstrong Th. D.
Now you must be thinking I have heard of “life after death”, but death after life?
The one thing that most mankind fears most of all is death, because most of mankind has a hard time believing that there is life, or death after life. In this article I will show you the difference between death after life, and life after death; and show you the truth about whether there is truly an after life, or death after life.
Who am I? Some great scholar, some great historian; some spirit medium which can talk to the dead, and get an answer? No I am none of these, I am a Bible believer (KJB) I have read and studied the Bible, and this is how I come up with the answers to these questions. All things come from God, God is the creator of all life.
It is the Spirit of God that dwelleth in every saved born again believer that interprets the word of God for them. Pay close attention to the words “life & death”.
John 16:13. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
In this verse we hear Jesus speaking to his disciples, but also an explanation for all saved born again believers who when they became saved received the Spirit of truth.Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Genesis 2:7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
John 1:1. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2. The same was in the beginning with God.
3. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4. In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
The none believer is skeptical of the word of God in the Bible because he does not have the mind of God. Two verse explain this, first …….
1 Corinthians 2:14. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
Secondly ….
1 Corinthians 2:16. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
Romans 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
This verse clearly states that there is a God, and that is why God has said in his word the following verse in the Psalms.Psalms 14:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
1 Corinthians 2:9-16
9. But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
Before man can love God he has to know God. Man cannot know God until the Spirit of God enters in. ( 1 John 5:1 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. )
10. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
11. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
12. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
( 1 John 5:5. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? )
13. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
14. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spriritually discerned.
15. But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
16. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
We can see by the verse in Genesis 2:7 above ………
Genesis 2:7b ………and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
These verses in Genesis chapter 2 tie in with the book of John in the new testament as we see here in John chapter 1….
Genesis 5: 1. This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;
2. Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.
Verse 1 In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;
Who will put God to the test? I dare say none.
Deuteronomy 4:32. For ask now of the days that are past, which were before thee, since the day that God created man upon the earth, and ask from the one side of heaven unto the other, whether there hath been any such thing as this great thing is, or hath been heard like it?
We have seen in these previous verse that God is the creator of all life.
Now lets see what the Bible has to say about death. A search of the scriptures reveals that the word “Death” is mentioned 237 times in the Old Testament, and 139 times in the New Testament for a total of 376 times. Why do we have to die? The answer is in the Bible.
Romans 5: 12. Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
The world knows about physical death, cemeteries are a testament to this fact, but what about spiritual death. The Bible speaks about this also. As a matter of fact it was Jesus Christ who answered this question when he spoke to one of the most religious men of his day.
John 3:1. There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
2. The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
3. Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
5. Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
1 John 5:12. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
There is a saying that is true, “born once die twice, born twice die once” this is very true. In another words, born a physical life and die (twice) without being saved
(born again) you die a physical life and a spiritual life, born twice (born again) you die once a physical life, but live on with God forever.
Romans 6:23. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
So you see by these scriptures death after life is both physical death, and spiritual death, but you can have life after death by excepting Jesus Christ as your personal savior.
1 John 5: 1. Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.
1 John 5: 5. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
1 John 5:10. He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
1 John 5: 12. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
1 John 5:13. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
