As Pastor of King James Bible Baptist Church, please allow me to introduce our ministry. We are an independent, old fashioned, soul-winning, Bible believing congregation who seek to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ; edify the saints and evangelize lost sinners. We believe that much of modern professing Christianity has left the path that God desires His people to travel and have swerved off into areas that are unbiblical and destructive to the spirit. By God’s grace it is our desire to restore and exemplify a genuine biblical witness to everyone we come into contact with while not being sidetracked by a preoccupation with matters which do not advance the cause of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. What the world thinks a Christian should be like is not our concern, nor is "political correctness".
As you might guess from our church’s name, we believe that the old King James 1611 Authorized Version of the Holy Bible is the only pure and perfect word of God for English speaking people. We endeavor not only to be associated with it by profession, but to live out its precepts in a practical way that bears good fruit that will last, and have a palpable effect upon the generations which follow after us. It is not only our privilege to have God’s word, it is our duty to obey it, and our responsibility to propagate it. It is to this end that we exist as a congregation.
Obviously, it doesn’t make much sense at all to promote a book that is nearly four hundred years old if we are going to accompany it with modern, fleshly, worldly music. Our love for the crowning achievement of the Philadelphian church period, the Bible of the Protestant Reformation, instills in us a great love for the old hymns of the faith which compliment the Bible and reflect the spirit and attitude of the saints, martyrs, and Christians who not only wrote these classic hymns, but believed and lived them as well. We incorporate scripturally sound classical music by Bach, Handel, Brahms, and others occasionally in our services, but the majority of music is sung and played straight from the hymnal. We reject modern Christian popular music just as vigorously as we reject modern perversions of Scripture as devices of Satan, which are intended to separate us from truth. The Holy Spirit bears witness to this in our spirits and is grieved when Christ is named in a 'sensual atmosphere' that is malicious in it’s intention. Children love the music in our church as much as the elderly. It is timeless. It is profound. It is authentic. We do not have “canned” or prerecorded music as part of our worship. We do not ever applaud. We believe that shouting praise to God is beautiful and appropriate. Our services are lively, not pretentious. They are joyous, but they are not “Showtime at the Apollo”. In the future, Lord willing, we will be offering some of this music for download on this website through a seperate audio page
The preaching in our church is direct, sincere, and aimed at provoking not only thought, but action. The word “sermon” is a Latin word which means to stab or to thrust. We believe that the preaching of the cross should both subdue the old nature and empower the new. There are some sermons in MP3 format available for download on this website now. These sermons were recorded live in our auditorium. They are intended to honor the Lord Jesus Christ, and faithfully proclaim the truths of God’s word.
The teaching in our church is given with an emphasis on correct doctrine. Every verse in scripture has four main applications: Historical, Prophetical, Devotional, and Doctrinal. We study the Bible verse by verse, comparing scripture with scripture. The average study will run at least fifty references so that you can see what the Bible teaches about itself, not what it is presumed to teach based upon the private interpretations of a man or a denomination. We will soon make some of these Bible studies available on this website as well, Lord willing.
Although I am the Pastor and principal preacher here, that doesn’t mean that I do everything or make all of the decisions alone. We have a group of elders here that help to oversee and guide the flock, make important decisions that effect our ministry, and on occasion preach in my stead. Along with these men I serve the needs of the families of this congregation. I thank God for their faithfulness and count it my privilege to work beside them. We will soon offer some of their sermons here as well.
Our congregation is small, but steadily growing. Please visit us and see for yourself what is being done here. Please pray for us and write when you can. We are looking forward with great anticipation for our Lord’s return for His Church. Until then, we want to be faithful ambassadors occupying ourselves with His calling. May the Lord Jesus Christ bless you as you endeavor to serve Him.
